The maintenance and installation of instruments is a discipline which requires operatives to have a detailed knowledge of both the hardware and the process to ensure their correct installation and operation.

Works carried out include but are not limited to the following:

• Front-end system design including preparation of project documentation and software
• Material specification and procurement
• Installation of field equipment
• Control panels and associated equipment
• Instrumentation calibration
• System pre-commissioning and commissioning, including loop checking etc
• Term maintenance service including preparation of maintenance schedules ensuring that failures are kept to a minimum and therefore reducing unplanned stoppages.
